Wah Audio is passionate about designing and manufacturing high quality loudspeakers that are great value and provides owners with a lifetime worth of satisfaction and enjoyment.  We believe that a great product doesn’t have to be exorbitantly priced; but price and quality should have a tight correlation.  You should expect to get great performance, high quality materials and components, solid build quality, and attractive looks without paying an additional premium for things that shouldn’t matter.
You should also know that while there are good values, there are also no free lunches.  The satisfaction from making a wise purchase is much more enduring than the pride of spending unnecessarily and excessively; or worse, the remorse from spending too little.

We strive for excellence by carefully blending advanced technology and quality manufacturing.

At Wah Audio We design, engineer and manufacture high quality speakers to play back music.  Just like every loudspeaker ever made (and every music playback device or accessory), Wah Audio loudspeakers cannot perform magic.   Wah Audio loudspeakers are electro-mechanical devices that convert the recorded electrical signals of musical events to mechanical motion of the air in your listening environment that results in the sound that you hear.  The magic exists in the music and the performance; but to fully experience this, the loudspeakers must perform this conversion with precision.

Cabinet construction techniques and materials are chosen to create a solid foundation for the drivers and crossovers to perform their function while complementing many listening environments.  Our cabinets are built from natural and engineered wood products and durable composite panels (PMMA with natural Alumina minerals), using reliable tight joinery for a rigid structure.  Any remaining cabinet resonances are suppressed to inaudibility by optimally bracing the panels and adding sound damping materials.  The cabinets are finished in real hardwood veneers protected by clear or tinted lacquers for lasting beauty. Our cabinets are designed to have a clean, simple and attractive appearance that complements many interior designs.

The decisions we make about component and driver cost vs performance are critical in providing value to our customers:  Therefore, we do not employ esoteric or boutique components or wire for its own sake.  Every component must demonstrate its value objectively for inclusion in the design.

A driver is the complex sum of all the components and compromises of its design and construction.  Our engineer has designed drivers and systems that have won many awards and rave reviews from many leading publications.  We select or design drivers for smooth wide bandwidth and low distortion.  Our drivers are well behaved within their usage bands with smooth roll-offs to reduce the need to correct response errors.  Our system designs keep the drivers operating within their linear performance envelope to ensure that distortion is kept as low as possible.  Drivers’ polar responses are matched to ensure smooth integration between them.

We make our air-core inductor coils in-house with quality enamel wire and neatly layered windings.  These are matched to within 1% of the inductance and ESR of the crossover design specification; compare this to the 10% typical of the industry, or the expensive audiophile brands 5% or 3%.

Capacitors are chosen for low dissipation factor, self-inductance and ESR, and high voltage, current, and temperature ratings.  Resistors are chosen for low inductance and stable resistance and ample power ratings.  We source from leading capacitor and resistor manufacturers that operate their own factories and have a long history of consistency and reliability.  We avoid components from vendors that merely re-label and market.

Crossovers are point-to-point wired and soldered to minimize insertion loss.  We use careful crossover board layout to prevent component to component cross-talk.  Each component is measured and matched.
